Ana Maria Markovic, considered the most beautiful soccer player in the world, once again complained about the fans’ attitude towards women in soccer.
According to her, there is still sexism in football, and made a curious comparison between herself and Erling Haaland.
“The difference between men and women is that when I show up in a swimsuit on social media, and when Erling Haaland posts a photo in a swimsuit, he certainly doesn’t get the same sexist comments”, said Ana Maria Markovic in an interview. “We women can stand up for each other, but what I’d like to see is men doing it for us too. Men always talk about ‘men of honor’, but it would be really honorable if they stood behind us in such situations”, added she.
Ana Maria Markovic is a Croatian footballer who plays as a forward for the Swiss Women’s Super League club Grasshopper and the Croatia national team, but she wishes to one day play in England’s Women’s Super League.
