An injury stopped Dina Asher-Smith from reaching the 100m final

Silver medalist in the 100-meter sprinter, Dina Asher-Smith, failed to qualify for the Olympic finals. The 25-year-old Briton, who is also a world champion in the 200 meters, gave a time of 11.05 seconds in the semifinals. She finished third in the first semifinal, and the result was not good enough to qualify in time. After the run, Dina Asher-Smith admitted to competing with a torn tendon.

The winner in the first semifinal was the current Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah from Jamaica with 10.76 seconds, and the second was the Australian Ajla Del Ponte with 11.01 seconds.

The fastest time in the semifinals was achieved by the Jamaican SShelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce with 10.73 seconds in the third semifinal, and very good results in the second semifinal were given by Marie-Josee Ta Lou from Côte d’Ivoire and Shericka Jackson from Jamaica, who shared a time of 10.79 seconds.

Later today is the final.
