Kimberly Glass is a former American indoor volleyball player. She was part of the US national volleyball team since 2007 and made her first Olympic appearance at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, helping Team USA to a silver medal.
Kimberly Marie Glass, or also known as Kim Glass, was born on August 18, 1984, in Los Angeles, California. She started in volleyball at an early age and was the Lancaster-Lebanon League MVP in 2000 and 2001 and participated on the US junior national team in 2001 that competed at the Women’s Junior World Championships. She played club volleyball for Synergy for four years.
Kimberly Glass played college volleyball for Arizona University. She is a three-time American Volleyball Coaches Association All-American and four-time All-Pac-10 pick. In 2002, she was an AVCA Second Team All-American and the National Freshman of the Year. In 2003, she was a Third Team All-American. As a senior in 2005, Glass was selected AVCA All-America First-Team in leading Arizona to a fourth overall seed in the NCAA tournament, where they got to the regional final.
In 2005, Kim Glass played for a while in the Italian volleyball club Santeramo Sport, but shortly after moved to Puerto Rico and joined the volleyball club Pinkin de Corozal, which was at that time runner-up of the Puerto Rican Super League. In her only season for the club, they finished 4th in the standings.
In 2008, Kimberly Glass moved to Turkey and signed with Fenerbahce Acibadem to play in the Turkiye Kadinlar Voleybol Ligi and the Champions League. The team finished won the silver in the Turkish League and was 14th in the Champions League. during the season she played for US women’s national volleyball team in the Beijing 2008 Olympics, winning the silver.
In 2009, she moved to Russia and signed with VC Universitet Belgorod, helping the team to win the Russian Cup.
A year later, she again changed country and team, singing with the Czech volleyball club VK Modranska Prostejov. The team with Kimberly Glass in the squad won the Czech Cup and Czech Republic Extraliga. They also finished 14th in the Champions League.
In 2010, she was transferred to the Azerbaijani volleyball club Rabita Baku. She played for two seasons in the club. In her maiden season for the team, Kim Glass won the gold in the Azerbaijan Superleague and the silver in the Champions League. In the second season, the American volleyball player and her team won the Club World Championship and Top Volley International, as well as Azerbaijan Superleague. In 2011, she also won the gold at the Grand Prix in Macau and NORCECA Championship in Caguas with the US women’s national volleyball team. She also was part of the team to win the bronze at the Pan-American Cup in Ciudad Juarez.
In 2012, she moved to China to play for the champion Guangdong Evergrande. Thus, Kim Glass conquered also the Asian Club Championship winning the gold. The team was the runner-up in the Chinese League.
in 2013, Kimberly Glass signed with Brazilian club Banana Boat/Praia Clube to win the Mineiro Championship. The team was 5th in the Brazilian Cup and Brazilian Superliga and was the runner-up at the Top Volley International.
