The UFC double champion Amanda Nunes is back in the cage. She will defend her Bantamweight title at the UFC 269 rooster, which will take place on December 11th. Her rival will be Julianna Pena.
The two were due to fight earlier this month, but Amanda Nunes withdrew after giving a positive test for COVID.
Amanda Nunes currently holds UFC championships at both 135 and 145 pounds. She is No 1 at Bantamweight in MMA Fighting’s Global Rankings and in MMA Fighting’s Women’s Pound-for-Pound Rankings. This will be Amanda Nunes’ first defense of the bantamweight title since UFC 245 in December 2019, where she defeated Germaine de Randamie via unanimous decision.
Amanda Nunes has a personal MMA record of 21-4 and is in a series of 12 consecutive victories. She has not lost for 7 years and in April defended her title in the Featherweight division with a victory over Megan Anderson. Amanda Nunes ends 17 of her matches with a KO or submission.
Julianna Pena, on the other hand, has a personal MMA record of 10-4 and comes after a victory over Sara McMann at the UFC 257 in January. She has won 6 of her last 8 MMA fights. She is the winner of TUF 13 in 2013. The Ultimate Fighter 18 champion also holds notable wins over Nicco Montano, Cat Zingano, and Jessica Eye. Julianna Pena finishes 7 of her matches with a KO or submission.
