Aleia Hobbs remains just 2 hundredths short of the 60m world record

American athlete Aleia Hobbs continues her remarkable performance in the winter season. The American won the national 60m title in Albuquerque after finishing first in 6.94 sec. So far this season she has had 6.98 sec. Aleia Hobbs consigned to history the legendary Gail Devers’ US record of 6.95 sec set at the 1993 World Championships in Toronto.

So Aleia Hobbs now occupies second place in the all-time indoor world ranking. She remained only 2 hundredths away from the world record of the Russian Irina Privalova, set in 1993.

Aleia Hobbs is an American professional track and field athlete specializing in sprints. She is in Top 10 of the all-time global rankings of 60m indoor with a result below 7.00 sec alongside Jamaican superstars Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Elaine Thompson-Herah. She won the gold at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene at 4x100m relay, as well as silver at the 4x100m relay at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
