The Spanish soccer player Aitana Bonmati won the women’s Ballon d’Or for the second year in a row.
Aitana Bonmati won four trophies with her club team Barcelona Femení. The girls of the Catalan team won La Liga, the Queen’s Cup, the Spanish Super Cup and the Champions League.
She scored 26 goals and provided 14 assists on the season. Barcelona’s women’s team also received the team of the year award.
“To keep winning, to keep improving and I’m trying in every way to move forward with the same mentality. I am 26 years old and I still have to develop to win more trophies. I had a great year. The successes were both at the collective level and at the individual level. I can thank Barcelona and Spain for allowing me to be where I am”, said Aitana Bonmati after receiving the trophy.
This is the fourth trophy in a row for the women of Barcelona, after before Aitana Bonmati, the award was won twice in a row by Alexia Putellas, who is the captain of the team.
