Madison Keys eliminated Russian talent Mirra Andreeva to qualify for the quarter-finals of Wimbledon

The Russian tennis talent Mirra Andreeva was close to write the history, but her impetus was stopped by Madison Keys (USA), who eliminated her in the fourth round of Wimbledon after 2-1 (3:6, 7:6, 6:2) in 2:05 hours.

Mirra Andreeva started the match perfectly after winning the first set by 6:3 after strong second part of the set and registering three breaks against only one for her American opponent. In the second set, the Russian tennis talent took a comfortable lead of 3:0 with one break in her favor. She even received a breakpoint in the fourth game to extend her win, but this was the cornerstone of the match, which Madison Keys finally won. Both players won their next serve games, before Madison Keys to received two break point in the 7th game of the set, which she realized and thus reduced the score to 4:3 and then equalized to 4:4. The set entered in tiebreak, which the American won by 7-4 and equalized the score.

The development of the second set reflected the play of the Russian player, who lost the first three sgames of the third set. This proved to be enough for the quite more experienced Madison Keys to close the set at 6:2 and win the match.

In the quarter-finals, Madison Keys will face the winner between 22nd-seeded Ekaterina Alexandrova (Russia) and 2nd-seeded Aryna Sabalenka (Belarus)
