The American tennis player Madison Keys won for the second time in her career the title of the WTA 500 Rothesay International Eastbourne with a prize pool of 780,637 USD.
In the final, Madison Keys, who has also been champion in 2014, defeated the ninth-seeded Daria Kasatkina (Russia) in the final by 2-0 (6:2, 7:6) in 1:42 hours.
Thus, Madison Keys won the seventh title in her career and third on grass. She needed five match points to close out the match and achieve her ninth success in 11 matches against Daria Kasatkina.
Madison Keys dominated early on, winning the first set 6:2 and taking a 4:1 lead in the second in less than an hour on court. However, she slowed down after that and had to work hard to win the second set after 70 minutes of play. The most dramatic was the tiebreak with a total of 28 points.
Madison Keys led by 3-0 and 5-2 but was unable to win the match at 6-5, 7-6 and 8-7 as strong gusts of wind began to affect the game. Daria Kasatkina, for her part, had four set points at 9-8, 10-9, 11-10 and 12-11 before Keys eventually took four of the last five points to reach the ultimate success.
