The top-seeded Aryna Sabalenka was eliminated in the second round of the WTA 500 German Open in berlin. The Belarusian tennis player lost by 0-2 (2:6, 6:7) to Veronika Kudermetova (Russia). Veronika Kudermetova, who last week reached the final of the WTA 250 Libema Open, took a 4:0 lead in the first set, which ended soon after.

In another quarterfinal, Maria Sakkari (Greece), who defeated the 6th-seeded Aliaksandra Sasnovich (Belarus), will face Marketa Vondrousova (Czech Republic), who eliminated Jule Niemeier (Germany).
