The Bulgarian national basketball player Gergana Ivanova will continue her professional career abroad. The 21-year-old player will strengthen the Hungarian ELTE BEAC (Budapest), which competes in the elite level of women’s basketball in the country. The guard signed a one-year contract with her new club.
Last season Gergana Ivanova was part of the Bulgarian champion Beroe (Stara Zagora), where she spent the last five years of her development. She played a major role in the team, recording an average of 12.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists in the 2020/21 season, leading her team to the treble – the championship title, the Bulgarian Cup, and the Adriatic League trophy.
In her career, Gergana Ivanova has also gone through the schools of Academic (Plovdiv), Champion 2006, Levski and Slavia. She is just 21 years old and has a bright future in basketball, considered as one of the most talented Bulgarian players.
Gergana Ivanova is the second basketball player from last year’s Beroe team to continue her development abroad after Karina Konstantinova, who strengthened the participant in the EuroCup Lefkada.
