Shamier Little won the women’s 400m hurdles gold at the 2023 Rabat Diamond League with 53.95 sec. The American track and field athlete claimed the victory in her first hurdle race of the 2023 season. It marks the fifth Diamond League title in her career.
“I really had a good race, and I’m excited to get back and go over things with my coach”, said Shamier Little. “The time was ehh, but the execution of the race, I felt, as pretty good. It wasn’t perfect, but it was as close to being good as I expected. For the upcoming competitions I will just execute better and be the best I can be”, added she.
Shamier Little established the lead through the first half of the race, then had a challenge from either side, but kept her advance and claimed the victory.
The Jamaican hurdlers Rushell Clayton, Shiann Salmon, and Janieve Russell completed the top 4 in the race. Rushell Clayton earned the silver with 54.15 sec, while Shiann Salmon remained with bronze with 54.42 sec. Janieve Russell remained outside the honors zone with 55.41 sec.
