Spain’s women’s top tennis player Paula Badosa will miss the French Open, which starts in a few days. She announced the news herself in her profiles on social networks.
“Just when everything finally seemed normal, I received some bad news. During the tournament in Rome, I suffered a stress fracture in my spine. This is very bad news for me after such a difficult start to the season, which was full of injuries. Because of the injury, there is no to be able to play tournaments in the next few weeks. Thank you to everyone who has been there for me no matter the circumstances”, wrote Paula Badosa in her social media profile.
In her career, the Spanish tennis player, who is currently world’s No 29 in the WTA rankings, has three WTA titles. In April last year, she reached a record second place in the world’s rankings.
Paula Badosa‘s best Grand Slam achievement is a quarterfinal, which she reached at the French Open / Roland Garros in 2021. She won the Masters’ tournament WTA 1000 Indian Wells Open during the same season.
The French Open starts on Sunday, May 28.
