Elina Svitolina (Ukraine) qualified for the semi-finals of the WTA 250 Internationaux De Strasbourg after defeating Varvara Gracheva (Russia) by 2-0 (6:3, 6:4) in less than an hour and a half of play.
The Ukrainian tennis player, who returned from maternity in April, registered two breaks in each set, which proved to be enough for her to win the clash. In the semi-finals, Elina Svitolina will face Clara Burel (France), who defeated Bernarda Pera (USA) by 2-1 (6:2, 3:6, 6:4) in 2:05 hours.
Anna Blinkova (Russia) also qualified for the semis of the WTA 250 Internationaux De Strasbourg after winning her match versus Emma Navarro (USA) by 2-0 (6:4, 6:4). Her opponent will be Lauren Davis (USA), who eliminated Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (Russia) by 2-1 (1:6, 7:6, 6:0).
The semi-finals are today and the grand final is one Saturday.
The year’s second Grand Slam tournament, French Open/ Roland Garros, starts on Sunday.
