Chelsea Women smashed Leicester City WFC by 6-0 (4-0) and climbed to the second position in the standings of the England Women’s Super League.
The Danish forward Pernille Harder was again most affective for Chelsea Women scoring twice (32′ and 42′) and assisting to Guro Reiten for the first goal in the 8th minute. Erin Cuthbert (18′), Lauren James (56′) and Jelena Cankovic (90′) also added one goal each for the victory.
Chelsea Women controled the match from the very first minute, making a total of 11 shots in the target and 18 goal attempts. They did not allowed a single shot in the target by their opponents.
Thus, Chelsea Women climbed to the second position in the standings of the England Women’s Super League, just a single point behind the leaders Manchester United WFC, but having a match less.
The next match of Chelsea Women is a visit to West Ham United Women on May 17. However, the team has a direct clash with Manchester United WFC for the Women’s FA Cup final on May 14.
Arsenal WFC also made a strong match defeating Brighton & Hove Albion WFC by 4-0 with Stina Blackstenius scoring twice (6′ and 8′), while Frida Leonhardsen-Maanum (39′) and Victoria Pelova (45′) added one goal each. Arsenal WFC climbed to third position of the England Women’s Super League standings on 6 points from the leaders, but also with a match less.
