Jasmine Camacho-Quinn won the 100m hurdles gold at the Diamond League in Doha. The Puerto Rican track and field athlete, who is the Tokyo 2020 Olympics champion in the discipline, took the distance for 12.48 sec (+1.1 m/s).
The silver went to the American athlete Alaysha Johnson, who finished in 12.66 sec, while third was another American competitor Nia Ali just 0.22 sec behind the winner.
Megan Tapper (Jamaica) and Tonea Marshall (USA) remained beside the medals’ zone.
Jasmine Camacho-Quinn is a Puerto Rican track and field athlete who specializes in the 100m hurdles. At the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, she became the first Puerto Rican of Afro-Latino descent and the second person representing Puerto Rico to win a gold medal. In the semi-finals, Camacho-Quinn set her personal best and Olympic record of 12.26 sec, which is tied for the fifth fastest time in history.
