Bulgarian wrestler Yuliana Yaneva won a gold medal in the category of up to 68kg at the European Championships in Zagreb. In the final match, she defeated Ukrainian Alla Belinska with 10-3.
In the first part, the 24-year-old Bulgarian wrestler made two good attacks, and took a lead of one point – 4:3, but also made a mistake in one of them and allowed the Ukrainian to take advantage. After the break, however, there was no doubt that Yuliana Yaneva was the classier competitor and she built up a solid lead, which she kept without any particular problems.
Yasemin Adar became European champion for the 6th time after defeating Austrian Martina Kuenz in the 76 kg freestyle. She started the fight strongly and got 2 points lead during the break, but was equalized in the second part. However, in the last 30 seconds, she won an advantage point and thus won her 6th European title.
