Nyeme Costa, also known as Nyeme Victoria, is a Brazilian volleyball player. She plays as a Libero for Gerdau/Minas and is a current member of the Brazil women’s national volleyball team. She is a gold medalist from the 2021 South American Championships and 2016 U21 South American Championships, as well as a silver medalist from the 2022 FIVB World Championship.
Nyeme Victoria Alexandre Costa Nunes, or shortly Nyeme Costa or Nyeme Victoria, was born on October 11, 1998, in Barra do Corda, Brazil.
Nyeme Costa made her professional debut in 2013 for the Brazilian club Maranhao Volei/CTGM in Brazilian Superliga. Despite that, they finished only 14th in the league, and the team won the bronze at Liga Nacional.
In 2016, Nyeme Costa moved to ADC Bradesco to gain experience playing in Brazilian Superliga B. She stayed in the club for three seasons and despite not having sufficient success at the club level, in that time played in the Brazilian youth national team and won the 2016 South American Championship U20. She also played at the 2015 World Championships U18 and the 2017 World Championships U20.
Nyeme Costa signed with Sao Paulo FC/Barueri in 2019. In her maiden season, the club won Paulista Championship. In the second season, the team finished only 3rd in Paulista Championship and 6th in the Brazilian Superliga, but Nyeme Costa made a great achievement with the Brazilian national team formations. She won the gold at the 2021 South American Championship and the silver at the 2021 Volleyball Nations League.
In 2021, she moved to Sesi Volei Bauru. With Nyeme Costa as a Libero, the team won the Brazilian Cup, and finished 3rd in the Brazilian Superliga, Paulista Championship, and South American Club Championship. At the international level, she helped the Brazilian national team to win the silver at the 2022 Volleyball Nations League and 2022 World Championships.
Nyeme Costa moved to Gerdau/Minas in 2022, who was the reigning Brazilian Superliga champion. The team won the Brazilian Cup and Mineiro Championship but failed to win the Brazilian Supercup. However, they were 4th in the Club World Championship.
Nyeme Costa is one of the most talented and successful young Brazilian volleyball players.
