The 9th-seeded American tennis player Madison Keys advanced to the second round of the WTA 500 Credit One Charleston Open after defeating her compatriot Emma Navarro by 2-0 (6:4, 6:3).

Madison Keys started the match strongly with 2 breaks and taking a lead of 4:0, which was enough to win the first set even after suffering a break in the 8th game. The second set was not much different and she took an early break and broke the resistance of Emma Navarro, winning by 6:3.

In the second round, Madison Keys will face Hailey Baptiste (USA), who defeated Xiyu Wang (China) by 2-0 (6:3, 6:3).

Leylah Fernandez (Canada) also advanced to the second round after defeating Evgeniya Rodina (Russia) by 2-0 (6:3, 6:2). in the next round she will face Paula Badosa (Spain).

Sofia Kenin (USA) had a hard match versus Aliaksandra Sasnovich (Belarus), but succeeded to get the victory after 2-1 (6:1, 6:7, 6:1).

The American tennis player Caroline Dolehide also reached the second round of the WTA 500 Credit One Charleston Open after winning her opening match versus Sabine Lisicki (Germany) by 2-0 (6:4, 6:4).

Cristina Bucsa (Spain) defeated Marie Bouzkova (Czech Republic) by 2-1 (7:5, 6:7, 6:1) and in the second round will face Bernarda Pera (USA), who eliminated Claire Liu (USA) by 2-1 (6:4, 6:7, 6:3).

Shelby Rogers prevailed in the American bout versus Danielle Collins by 2-1 (6:7, 6:4, 6:1) and also qualified for the second round of the tennis tournament.
