Canadian swimmer Summer McIntosh continues her excellent performance in the pool. The 16-year-old swimmer broke a second world record during the Canadian swimming championships in Toronto. Having equaled the world record in the 400m freestyle earlier in the week, Summer McIntosh now also won the 400m medley in 4:25.87 min, now the world’s all-time best in the event.
The previous world record of 4:26.36 min was held by Katinka Hosszu and was set in 2016.
The achievement of Summer McIntosh is also a new girls’ world record and a new Canadian record. Until now, the top achievement of the Canadian in the discipline was 4:28.61 min.
Summer McIntosh, 16, set another world record for girls at the championships – that of the 200m medley after winning in 2:06.89 min. This is the fourth achievement in the all-time ranking of the discipline.
