Martina Trevisan (Italy) qualified for the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 Miami Open. The Italian tennis player defeated Jelena Ostapenko (Latvia) by 2-0 (6:3, 6:3) in a match that lasted 1:32 hours.
Martina Trevisan started the match with two breaks and took a lead of 4:1. Jelena Ostapenko succeeded to return one of the breaks immediately but the Italian succeeded to make another break in the 9th game and closed the set at 6:3.
The second set started with an early break for Jelena Ostapenko but Martina Trevisan succeeded to overturn the set by two breaks and lead by 5:2. This was enough for her to close the set by 6:3 and the match by 2-0.
Anastasia Potapova (Russia) also advanced to the next round after defeating Qinwen Zheng (China) by 2-0 (6:4, 7:6) in 1:44 hours. In the quarter-finals, she will face the 3rd-seeded Jessica Pegula (USA), who defeated Magda Linette (Poland) by 2-0 (6:1, 7:5).
The Romanian tennis player Sorana Cirstea continue with her great performance in the tournament and also qualified for the quarter-finals after defeating Marketa Vondrousova (Czech Republic) by 2-0 (7:6, 6:4).
