Finnish skier Kerttu Niskanen won the women’s cross-country trophy after finishing fifth in the 20km classic mass start at the World Cup in Lahti, Finland. The winner was Anne Kjersti Kalva (Norway).
This was the last race of the season, after which the men’s 20 km race began. The success of Kerttu Niskanen is even brighter against the background of the victories of the strong competitors from Norway.
It was Anne Kjersti Kalva’s first individual victory in the World Cup. She finished in 51:04.3 min. Jonna Sundling (Sweden) was 0.9 sec behind, and Katharina Hennig (Germany) was third with a delay of 1.1 sec.
Tiril Udnes Weng (Norway) won the women’s cross-country skiing World Cup for the first time in her career on Saturday. Today she finished 18th, 1:07.7 min behind the winner.
Tiril Udnes Weng finished atop the overall World Cup standings with 2,029 points. In second place with 1,867 points is Jessie Diggins (USA), and Kerttu Niskanen is in third position with 1,840 points.
In the standings for the small crystal globe, Kerttu Niskanen collected an asset of 1,180 points, ahead of Jessie Diggins with 1,086 points and Tiril Udnes Weng with 946 points.
