Jennifer Maia defeated Casey O’Neill in the women’s flyweight bout at UFC 286. The Brazilian MMA fighter won the match via unanimous decision using her striking and hitting more significantly her opponent.
Jennifer Maia showed her abilities in boxing and recorded 151 total strikes, of which 145 were significant.
“I’m happy with my performance, but I have so much more to show. I really wanted to show you guys my ground game, but Casey was very greased up, very oily, very slippery, and that really threw me off”, said Jennifer Maia after the fight. “I have a very strong game against the cage, and I felt it extremely difficult to get a hold of her and keep a hold of her because she was so slippery. So I had to abandon that and go to boxing”, added she.
Following the victory, Jennifer Maia targets to fight for the title again. She will need at least one more win before being the contender for the UFC fLyweight belt.
Jennifer Maia (21-9-1) is a Brazilian professional mixed martial artist. She is the former Invicta FC Flyweight World Champion. She is a Black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a Black belt in Muay Thai.
