Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina will return to the court at the WTA 500 Charleston Open next month after accepting the wild card provided to her by the organizers.

In addition to the WTA 500 Charleston Open, Elina Svitolina will also be engaged in parallel and a charity race for professionals and amateurs under the slogan “Peace for Peace”, the funds from which will be provided to victims of the war in Ukraine.
“To raise awareness of the war in Ukraine and to raise funds is very important for us as a tournament, as well as for our tennis players”, said tournament director Bob Moran.
The WTA 500 Charleston Open tournament, which will be held from April 3 to 9, has been confirmed by five former champions, including the current Belinda Bencic (Switzerland). Australia Open Champion Aryna Sabalenka (Belarus) has also applied for participation.
