The French biathlete Anais Chevalier-Bouchet became the next biathlon competitor to announce the end of her career.
German Denise Herrmann-Wick and biathlon big Crystal Globe winner Marte Olsbu Roiseland (Norway) also announced their plans to end their careers in biathlon.
Now 30 years old, Anais Chevalier-Bouchet, a two-time silver medalist at the Beijing 2022 Olympics, said she will end her racing career after the season’s World Cup finals in Oslo, Norway.
“I’m glad I gave myself a chance to succeed and stick to my values throughout my career. I am proud that I continued to fight in difficult times, I am proud that I laughed, that I made choices and defended them. Another life is waiting for me and I can’t wait for what awaits me”, said Anais Chevalier-Bouchet.
Another French biathlon competitor, Julia Simon, leads the general standings for the Women’s Biathlon World Cup.
