Italian athlete Nadia Battocletti won her 30th national title in the various age groups. She triumphed at the Italian Cross Country Championships in Gubbio. The winner of four European cross-country titles covered the women’s 8km distance in 27:09 min.
“With this race, I finished my winter season. Now I will stop for two weeks and then start preparing for the summer season. Among my confirmed races will be the 5,000m start at the Diamond League in Oslo”, said the young Italian athlete.
Nadia Battocletti is an Italian female middle- and long-distance runner. She won the gold medal for the 5,000m at the 2021 European Under-23 Championships and earned four individual gold medals in the U20 and U23 age groups at the European Cross Country Championships. She is the Italian record holder for the indoor 3000 metres and 5 km road race. As a 17-year-old, Nadia Battocletti won the bronze medal in the 3,000m at the 2017 European U20 Championships. At the 2019 edition of this championship, she earned silver for the 5,000m. She represented Italy at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics competing in the 5,000m. She won an Italian national title at the senior level in 2018, becoming the first Italian millennial to do that. Battocletti is a five-time national champion.
