The indoor 400m world record holder Femke Bol will compete in the same event at the World Athletics Tour Gold Label event in Hengelo on June 4, while her compatriot Lieke Klaver will run the 200m at the same event.
Femke Bol clocked 49.26 sec at the Dutch national indoor championships in Apeldoorn, bettering the 41-year-old indoor world record of 49.59 sec. Earlier this month, she won the European indoor 400m and 4x400m titles.
“I am very excited to be in Hengelo again this year. No obstacles this time. I can’t wait to run again in front of a full stadium in the Netherlands with the support of the local fans”, said Femke Bol.
Lieke Klaver, who finished second to her in the 400m at the Istanbul European Indoor last month, will compete in the 200m in Hengelo.
“The Dutch fans will create a very pleasant atmosphere in the stadium, which I hope will be full. It’s great to run home so fast and not have to travel so much. This means all my friends can come and watch too. Almost all of my training partners will be participating as well”, said Lieke Klaver.
