Two-time Olympic champion Anastasia Bliznyuk is the coach of the Chinese team, the Chinese Gymnastics Association announced.
“We confirm that Anastasia Bliznyuk continues to be the coach of the Chinese rhythmic gymnastics team”, said the Chinese Gymnastics Association.
That Bliznyuk will work with the Chinese team was announced in June by the president of the Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation Irina Viner. At the World Championship in September in Sofia, the Russians were not among the representatives of the Chinese team accredited for the tournament.
The 28-year-old Anastasia Bliznyuk, who has not competed since November 2021, was named to the reserve squad of the Russian team in February.
The gymnast is a two-time Olympic champion with the ensemble of Russia from London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympics. At the Tokyo 2020 Games, she came second. In his career, Anastasia Bliznyuk has had six gold, two silver, and one bronze medal from the World Championships.
