The Dutch women’s relay won the European 4x400m title at the Athletics Indoor Championships in Istanbul. The Dutch team of Lieke Klaver, Eveline Saalberg, Cathelijn Peeters and Femke Bol won the women’s gold with a new championship record of 3:25.66 min.
At the last post, Femke Bol runs 49.58 sec. Thus, she was able to defend her two titles from Torun 2021, after yesterday she also won gold in the 400m.
The Italian women’s relay won the silver medals with a new national record of 3:28.61 min, and the Polish women took the bronze medals with 3:29.31 min, led by Anna Kielbasinska’s fastest split of 51.39 sec.
Notable performances also came from the Czech Republic’s Lada Vondrova (51.25 sec) and Ireland’s Sharlene Mawdsley (51.15 sec), who posted the fastest splits for their respective teams.
