Emilie Fleten is a Norwegian cross-country skier, who is the 2023 Vasaloppet Ski Marathon winner. She has five FIS podiums at cross-country skiing, including the gold at the 2018 Gaalaa 10km individual starts freestyle.
Emilie Fleten was born on June 9, 1992, in Norway. She started skiing at an early age and quickly attracted the sights of the specialists, who found her great talent. She is a 2012 Norwegian national junior bronze medalist in 15km classics.
Emilie Fleten started competing at the FIS already in 2009. She debuted at the Harstad 5km individual start classic, finishing only 134th.
Among her biggest achievement are the FIS podiums – gold at the 2018 Gaalaa 10km individual starts freestyle, as well az bronze medals at the Nes Skianlegg in 5km Classic, 10km Freestyle, as well as the Harstad 5km Classic.
However, in 2020, she turned the marathon distances and improved her calendar to compete mostly in such races. She was second at the Bedrichov v Jizerskych horach 50 km Marathon Classic.
In 2021, she was third at the Vaalaadalen-Vaalaadalen 90km Marathon Classic, as well as Vaalaadalen 64km nd 54km Marathon Classic.
In 2022, she continue her perfect performance at the ski marathon, winning the bronze at the Rena-Lillehammer 54km Marathon Classic, Saelen-Mora 90km Marathon Classic, and Alta Pusteria 32km Marathon.
In 2023, she won the title at the Vasaloppet Ski Marathon. She also was second at the Groenklitt-Groenklitt 50km Marathon, Alta Pusteria 62km Marathon, Pontresina/Zuoz 55km Marathon.
Emilie Fleten is one of the most talented cross-country skiers and one of the biggest competitors for medals in the near future.
