The 8th-seeded Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk qualified for the semi-finals of the WTA 250 ATX Open in Austin, USA. Marta Kostyuk defeated Anna-Lena Friedsam (Germany) by 2-0 (7:6, 6:2) in a match that lasted 1:51 hour.
The first set started equally and both layers for their service games. In the third game, Marta Kostyuk made a break, but Anna-Lena Friedsam returned it immediately and thus set proceeded to a tiebreak, which the Ukrainian won by 8-6 from her second set point.
The second set was under the total dominance of Marta Kostyuk, who made four breaks against only two for her opponent and won by 6:2.
In the semifinals, Marta Kostyuk will face the winner between Anna Kalinskaya (Russia) and the fourth-seeded Danielle Collins (USA).
Katie Volynets (USA) also qualified for the semi-finals after defeating Peyton Stearns (USA) by 2-0 (7:5, 6:3).
