Former US Open champion Emma Raducanu (Great Britain) received a wild card to participate in the WTA 1000 Miami Open tennis tournament announced the organizers.
Emma Raducanu has requested an invitation from the organizers to the next tournament in WTA 1000 Indian Wells Open after an injury hampered the start of her season. She has not played since the ankle injury suffered at the Australian Open.
“Emma Raducanu has shown that can win the biggest tournaments in the world and we can’t wait to welcome her to Miami to fight for the title here”, commented tournament director James Blake. The tournament WTA 1000 Miami Open starts on March 19.
Emma Raducanu is a British professional tennis player. She reached a career-high ranking of No 10 by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) on July 11, 2022, and is the current British No 1. Emma Raducanu is the first British woman to win a Grand Slam singles title since Virginia Wade at the 1977 Wimbledon Championships. She was born in Toronto and raised in London. She made her WTA Tour debut in June 2021.
