Monika Bociek is a Polish volleyball player, who plays as the opposite in the local team OnlyBio Palac Bydgoszcz and Poland’s national volleyball team. She is a Polish volleyball champion with LKS Commercecon Lodz in 2019.
Monika Bociek, or Monika Galkowska, was born on April 6, 1996, in Opoczno, Poland. She was introduced to volleyball at an early age by her brothers, who are also volleyball players. She has a silver at the Polish Youth League Championship and gold at the Polish Junior Championships in 2015 with the team LTS Legionovia Legionowo U20. She also won gold with the junior national team at the Eastern European EEVZA Junior Championships.
Monika Bociek started her career at the team of Sparta Warszawa in 2013. After one season in the club, she moved to LTS Legionovia Legionowo U20 to win twice the Polish Championships U20 in 2014/2015 and 2015/2016.
Monika Bociek signed in 2017 with Polski Cukier Muszynianka Muszyna to play in the TAURON Liga. The team finished 8th in the TAURON Liga and 9th in the Polish Cup.
In 2018, Monika Bociek signed with LKS Commercecon Lodz to play top-class volleyball. In her maiden season with the team, she won the Polish TAURON Liga, finished third in the Polish Cup, and played also in the Champions League. In the 2019/2020 season, the team was third in the Polish TAURON Liga, 5th in the Polish Cup, and runner-up in the Polish Supercup.
In 2020, Monika Bociek signed with Energa MKS Kalisz but after only one season in the team, she moved to Italy to sign with Bartoccini Fortinfissi Perugia to play in the Italian Serie A1. She stayed for two seasons with the Italian team and finished 8th and 10th in the Italian Serie A1, respectively.
In 2022, Monika Bociek returned to Poland and signed with OnlyBio Palac Bydgoszcz, where is currently playing.
At the international level, Monika Bociek won the World Grand Prix Division II in 2017 Ostrava with the Polish national team. She also is a bronze medalist at the Eastern European EEVZA Championship.
