The football player of Barcelona FC and the Spanish women’s national team Alexia Putellas was awarded the best female footballer at the FIFA The Best awards ceremony in Paris.
This is the second consecutive award for her after she won the prize last year as well. The Spanish footballer did the same with the Ballon d’Or award, which she won in the last two years.
Alexia Putellas scored 34 goals for Barcelona FC in all competitions and helped her club win an incredible treble of three cups for the season – something no other women’s team has achieved to date.
Alexia Putellas is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Barcelona FC, which she captains, and the Spain national team. She previously played for Espanyol and Levante and has represented Catalonia. Having won all major club and individual awards available to a European player by 2022, she is widely regarded as the best contemporary female footballer in the world, and one of the greatest of all time.
Alex Morgan (USA; San Diego) and Beth Mead (England; Arsenal) remained her runners-up for the FIFA award. Beth Mead was at the heart of his country’s European title win that year.
