The WTA No 3, Ons Jabeur, withdrew from the Doha and Dubai tournaments later this month after opting to undergo minor surgery.
“I have to take care of my health condition. My medical team decided that I should have a minor operation so that I can get back on the courts and perform well”, said Ons Jabeur.
She did not give any details about the operation and why it was necessary.
“I will have to withdraw from Doha and Dubai and it breaks my heart. I feel sorry for all the fans in the Middle East who are waiting for these tournaments. I promise I will come back to you stronger”, added the Tunisian tennis player.
Ons Jabeur crashed out in the second round of last month’s Australian Open after losing to Marketa Vondrousova and broke down in tears as she left the court.
