The Olympic volleyball runners-up from Serbia qualified for the semifinals of the Tokyo Games after recording a clear victory over Italy with 3-0 (25:21, 25:14, 25:21) in the quarter-finals of the volleyball tournament.
The match started equally, but at the end of the first part, the “blues” imposed their game with success. In the other 2 parts, the “representation” continued to be better. Serbian volleyball girls were better in attack, blockade and made fewer unprovoked mistakes.
Diagonal Tijana Boskovic scored 24 points (3 blocks, 51% efficiency in attack), and Milena Rasic added another 10 points (3 blocks).
Paola Egonu was the top scorer for Italy with 16 points (1 ace), Elena Pietrini added 7 more points.
In the semifinals of the Tokyo Olympics, Serbia will meet the US team on August 6th.
