Danish teenage qualifier Clara Tauson won the first title in her WTA career after triumphed at the tournament of solid courts in the French city of Lyon with a prize pool of 235,238 USD.
At the final match between two qualifiers, 18-year-old Clara Tauson defeated the 28-year-old Viktorija Golubic (Switzerland) with 6:4, 6:1 for 91 minutes.
The two players exchanged three breaks in the first nine games, after which Clara Tauson took her oppression in the tenth game and closed the first set with 6:4. In the second set, the Danish teenage qualifier dominated entirely and lost only one game.
For 18-year-old Clara Tauson, this was only third participation in the main scheme of the WTA tournament.
This was the first final of the WTA tournament between two qualifiers after Tokyo 2017 when Zarina Diyas defeated Miyu Kato by 6:2, 7:5, and also won her first WTA title.
