American tennis player Jessica Pegula exudes confidence about her performance at the Australian Open. She eliminated Marta Kostyuk (Ukraine) with 2-0 (6:0, 6:2) in the third round and will play against the Czech Barbora Krejcikova in the “Round of 16”.
Earlier in the season, she scored a convincing victory over world number one Iga Swiatek in the United Cup team tennis tournament.
“I definitely played very well against Iga”, said the American. “I’ve had some excellent games this week as well. I think I’ve improved my level and I can beat anyone”, added Jessica Pegula.
“But at some point when you are under pressure and there are a lot of nerves, it all depends on the conditions, on the opponent and things can change during the match. However, I can say that I feel confident in my game, which is at a very, very high level at the moment”, said also the 28-year-old Jessica Pegula. “I’m a perfectionist. Even today I was irritated that I didn’t serve very well. I have no problem analyzing my game”, added she.
