Top-seeded Coco Gauff advanced to the quarter-finals of the WTA 250 Auckland

The top-seeded Coco Gauff advanced to the quarter-finals of the WTA 250 Auckland after defeating her compatriot Sofia Kenin by 2-0 (6:4, 6:4) in a match that lasted 85 minutes.

Coco Gauff achieved two breaks in the first set and in the second did not give even a breakpoint to Sofia Kenin to close the match without much problems.

In the quarter-finals, she will face the Chinese player Lin Zhu, who eliminated Venus Williams by 2-1 (3:6, 6:2, 7:5) in a match that lasted 2:26 hours.

The Spanish qualifier Rebeka Masarova continues with her strong performance in the tournament reaching the quarter-finals after defeating Anna Blinkova by 2-0 (6:1, 6:4) in only 70 minutes. Rebeka Masarova made a fantastic match and won 4 consecutive games in the first set to close it by 6:1. The second set was quite more equal, but in the end, the Spanish player succeeded to take the win.

In the quarter-finals, Rebeka Masarova will face Karolina Muchova, who defeated Elena Gabriela Ruse by 2-0 (6:4, 6:1).

In the other matches Danka Kovinic defeated Lauren Davis by 2-1 (4:6, 6:3, 6:2), while Emma Raducanu retired in the match versus Viktoria Kuzmova at 1-1.

Ysaline Bonaventure (Belgium) eliminated Rebecca Marino (Canada) by 2-1 (3:6, 6:3, 6:3), while US Open 2021 runner-up Leylah Fernandez defeated Julia Grabher by 2-0 (6:0, 6:1).
