The legendary American alpine skier Lindsey Vonn is sure that her compatriot Mikaela Shiffrin will soon break the record for victories in World Cup competitions.
Mikaela Shiffrin has 77 World Cup wins, just five below Lindsey Vonn’s women’s record of 82 and just nine short of the overall record of 86 held by former Swedish ace Ingemar Stenmark.
Mikaela Shiffrin has already won three races this season and Lindsey Vonn predicted in an interview that she will soon break the record.
“In my opinion, she is the best skier who has ever been born. She will very quickly break my record for World Cup wins and become the greatest skier in history”, said Lindsey Vonn. “She’s an incredible athlete. Her slalom technique is almost perfect”, added she.
Mikaela Shiffrin, 27, has won 49 races in her favorite slalom, a World Cup record for a single discipline. She is also a two-time Olympic and six-time world champion, a four-time World Cup winner and a six-time slalom champion.
