Anhelina Kalinina qualified for the Round of 16 of the WTA 125 Open P2i Angers Arena Loire

The second-seeded Anhelina Kalinina qualified for the “Round of 16” of the WTA 125 Open P2i Angers Arena Loire with a prize fund of 115,000 USD. The Ukrainian tennis player overcame easily the American Katrina Scott by 2-0 (6:1, 6:1) in just 68 minutes of play.

Both players exchange a break in the start of the first set, but after that the full domination was for Anhelina Kalinina who took the next 5 games of the set to close by 6:1. The Ukrainian kept the pace in the next set and took a lead of 3:0 after a break and close the set again at 6:1.

In the next round, Anhelina Kalinina will face the American player Sofia Kenin, who defeated Dayana Yastremska (ukraine) by 2-0 (6:4, 6:2).

The 7th-seeded Bulgarian tennis player Viktoriya Tomova started the tournament with hard success over the qualifier Joanna Garland (Taiwan) by 2-1 (1:6, 6:3, 6:0). Despite losing the first set, the Bulgarian returned on the court motivated and took the second, to overtake the resistance of the Taiwanese.

In the next round, Viktoriya Tomova will face Marketa Vondrousova (Czech Republic), who defeated Yanina Wickmayer (Belgium).

Clara Burel (France) also advanced to the “Round of 16” after defeating Karolina Muchova by 2-1 (2:6, 7:6, 6:3) while Varvara Gracheva (Russia) eliminated Tessah Andrianjafitrimo (France) by 2-0 (6:0, 6:3).

Danish player Clara Tauson defeated Sabine Lisicki (Germany) by 2-0 (6:1, 6:1) and advanced to the next round, where will face Anna Blinkova (Russia), who defeated Joanne Zuger (Switzerland) by 2-1 (6:4, 7:6, 6:3).
