Swedish cross-country skier Frida Karlsson won the mass start of the 20km classic style at the Cross Country Skiing World Cup in the Norwegian winter center of Lillehammer.
Frida Karlsson closed the distance in 53:51.9 minutes to record her second success of the season and fifth of her career.
Tiril Udnes Weng (Norway), the world champion in the discipline and the leader in the general standings for the season, came in second by 6 hundredths of a second behind the winner. Third is Ebba Andersson from Sweden with a passive of 1.2 seconds.
One of the favorites Jessie Diggins (USA) finished in ninth place, 5.5 seconds behind the winner.
In the general standings for the World Cup, Tiril Udnes Weng leads with 528 points, ahead of Frida Karlsson with 452, Jessie Diggins with 411 points and others.
