In a match of Group A, which was played in Ljubljana, the Croatian team defeated Hungary with 21-18 ()10-7, 11-11). Valentina Blazevic was above everyone by scoring 9 goals for the Croatian team, Viktoria Gyori-Lukacs scored 5 times for the Hungarian team.
In the other match of Group A, Norway defeated Switzerland by 38-21 (19-9, 19-12).
