Sweden prevailed over Slovenia at the European Women’s Handball Championship

Team Sweden prevailed over Slovenia by 33-22 on day three of the European Women’s Handball Championship.

At halftime, the handball players of Slovenia led with 14-13, but in the second part, they were complete masters of the field. Nathalie Hagman scored 9 goals for Sweden, and Jamina Roberts added 8. For the Slovenians, Ana Gros was the top scorer with 5 goals, while Elizabeth Omoregie did not score a single goal.

In the other match from Group B, Denmark defeated Serbia by 34-21 (18-11, 16-10). Thirteen players of Denmark’s team scored goals in the match with Trine Ostergaard Jensen, Sarah Iversen and Kathrine Heindahl, being the top scorered with 4 goals each. For the team of Serbia, Jovana Stoiljkovic scored 6 goals.

Thus, Sweden took a lead in Group B with 4 pts, followed by Denmark and Slovenia with 2 pts each and Serbia without a single point.

In a match of Group A, which was played in Ljubljana, the Croatian team defeated Hungary with 21-18 ()10-7, 11-11). Valentina Blazevic was above everyone by scoring 9 goals for the Croatian team, Viktoria Gyori-Lukacs scored 5 times for the Hungarian team.

In the other match of Group A, Norway defeated Switzerland by 38-21 (19-9, 19-12).

Norway is the leader in Group A with 4 pts, followed by Hungary and Croatia, each with 2 pts, while the last is Switzerland without a single point.
