Rhythmic gymnasts Anastasiia Salos and Anna Kamenshchikova, who were born in Russia, have officially received Belarusian citizenship. This was reported by the head coach of the national rhythmic gymnastics team of Belarus, Irina Leparskaya.
“Anastasiia Salos and Anna Kamenshchikova officially received Belarusian citizenship”, said Irina Leparskaya.
At the end of October, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree granting Belarusian citizenship to 355 people, including five athletes from Russia.
The 20-year-old Anastasiia Salos was born in Barnaul, where she started doing rhythmic gymnastics at the age of 4. In 2014, she moved to Belarus and later became part of the national team. Anastasiia Salos has three bronze medals from the World Championships, as well as two silver and three bronze medals from the European Championships.
The 19-year-old Anna Kamenshchikova took her first steps in rhythmic gymnastics in the city of Nakhodka, and later moved to Minsk with her parents. In 2018, she took silver in the bats final at the European Girls’ Championships and finished fourth in the individual all-around at the Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires.
