Belarusian tennis player Aryna Sabalenka overcame the strong resistance of Ons Jabeur (Tunisia) and took a victory by 2-1 (3:6, 7:6, 7:5) in her first match of the WTA Finals Fort Worth. The match from the Group B of the tournament lasted 2:31 hours and brought a lot of emotions to the fans.
The 24-year-old Aryna Sabalenka has won her last three matches against Ons Jabeur. The Tunisian dominated with a strong serve in the opening set, winning 73% (16 of 22) of her service points while not giving her opponent a single break point.
The second set was quite different as Ons Jabeur started to make double faults. The two exchanged three breaks each, and in the tiebreak, Aryna Sabalenka overcame a deficit of 3:5 and after four consecutive points made it 7:5 to equalize the sets.
In the third part, the Belarusian tennis player made a break in the 12th game and ended the match with her first match point.
The next match of Aryna Sabalenka is versus Maria Sakkari, while Ons Jabeur will face Jessica Pegula.
