Three-time Grand Slam winner Andy Murray has warned young British tennis talent Emma Raducanu that she will not progress if she keeps changing coaches so often. The 19-year-old Emma Raducanu, who won the US Open 2021, is again looking for a new coach after releasing her mentor Dmitry Tursunov.
She recently enlisted the help of former Andy Murray coach Jez Green to help with her frequent injury problems.
“I think you have to spend enough time with a specialist to make a difference. If you don’t spend enough time, then it’s hard. I think it will be good if Radukanu stays longer with his coach”, said Andy Murray. “If it’s not Jez, then another full-time fitness coach would be helpful. She needs to improve physically and avoid injuries, and the best option for that is to have someone around her all the time to work with her”, added he.
The 35-year-old tennis player did not rule out the possibility of one day becoming Emma Raducanu’s coach himself.
Emma Raducanu is a British professional tennis player. She reached a career-high ranking of No 10 by the WTA on July 11, 2022, and is the current British No 1. Emma Raducanu is the first British woman to win a Grand Slam singles title since Virginia Wade at the 1977 Wimbledon Championships.
