Cori Coco Gauff qualified for the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 Guadalajara Open

The 5th-seeded teenager Cori Coco Gauff qualified for the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 Guadalajara Open after a straight-set victory over the Italian Martina Trevisan. The American tennis player did not face any difficulties to win the match by 2-0 (6:0, 6:4) in 62 minutes.

Cori Coco Gauff started strongly, winning the first set by 6:0 and breaking her opponent three times on 15. The second set started in the same pace and the American took a lead by 3:0 before Martina Trevisan to win her first game in the match. However, she succeeded to return the break and for a short time had chances in the second set, until another break by Cori Coco Gauff and she closed the set at 6:4.

The 3rd-seeded American Jessica Pegula did not have any problems versus Bianca Andreescu (Romania) and won the match by 2-0 (6:4, 6:4) and also advanced to the quarter-finals, where will face Sloane Stephens, who stunned the 6th-seeded Caroline Garcia defeating her by 2-0 (7:6, 7:5).

Veronika Kudermetova (Russia) also advanced to the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 Guadalajara Open after defeating Jelena Ostapenko (Latvia) by 2-0 (6:4, 6:4). In the next round, the Russian player will face the 4th-seeded Maria Sakkari (Greece), who eliminated Danielle Collins by 2-1 (5:7, 6:3, 6:3).
