Reigning women’s volleyball world champion Serbia remains unbeaten at the 2022 World Cup. Daniele Santarelli-led team outclassed Thailand by 3-0 (25:23, 25:17, 25:15) in their third Group F match of the second phase of the championship played this afternoon at the Atlas Arena in Lodz.
Thus, Serbia is alone at the top of the standings with 8 wins from 8 matches and 23 points, being a sure quarter-finalist. The Thai women are in 6th place with 4 wins, 4 losses and 10 points, having only theoretical chances to advance to the quarter-finals of the world championship. In their last matches tomorrow (October 8), the Serbian national team will play against the strong team of Turkey, and Thailand against the Olympic champion the USA.
Most useful for Serbia were Ana Bjelica (3 blocks, 1 ace and 46% attack success) and Bojana Milenkovic (1 ace, 57% attack success and 29% perfect reception) with 15 and 14 points, respectively
