The 3rd-seeded and reigning champion Anett Kontaveit dropped out of the tennis tournament WTA 500 Ostrava Open. The Estonian ended her participation in the second set of the match against Tereza Martincova due to an injury, after losing the first set by 6:7.
Anett Kontaveit made a comeback from 0:3 to 4:3, but then suffered further problems and lost by 3-7 in the tiebreak against the representative of the hosts.
The condition of the Estonian tennis player worsened in the first game of the second set and the Czech got a break, after which Anett Kontaveit finally ended her participation in the match.
In the next round of the tournament, Tereza Martincova, who is the world’s No 78, will play against Ekaterina Alexandrova, who defeated the fifth-seeded Daria Kasatkina by 2-0 (6:1, 7:6).
