China and Australia qualified for the semi-finals of the Women’s Basketball World Cup after defeating France and Belgium, respectively. Both teams will compete in the semi-finals and will face on September 30.
China reached a relatively easy victory versus France by 85-71 (25-25, 25-14, 16-19, 19-23). The match was equal in the first quarter, but the Chinese players took a serious advantage in the second one, which was enough to win the match.
For China, the most valuable player was Meng Li with 23 pts, 2 rebs, and 4 asts. Sijing Huang and Xu Han added 18 pts and 13 pts, respectively.

Australia beat Belgium by 86-69 (26-16, 26-21, 20-11, 14-21). Australian basketball players took the lead in the very beginning and extended it by the third quarter. After having a quite sufficient lead, they slowed down and gave the last quarter to their opponents but finally secured the victory.
For Australia, the most effective player was Cayla George with 19 pts, 9 rebs, and 2 asts. Marianna Tolo added 13 pts, 6 rebs, and 2 asts, while Sara Blicavs ended the match with 12 pts, 9 rebs, and 1 ast.
For Belgium, Julie Allemand made 15 pts, 2 rebs, and 7 asts.
