Russian tennis player Ekaterina Alexandrova won the title of the WTA 250 Korea Open with a prize fund of 251,750 USD. The second-seeded Ekaterina Alexandrova prevailed against the top-seeded Jelena Ostapenko (Latvia) with 2-0 (7:6, 6:0) in a match that lasted 1:25 hours.
The match started hesitantly for both players after both recording breaks. Thus, quite naturally, it came to a tiebreak, in which Ekaterina Alexandrova won by 7-4.
Jelena Ostapenko was totally broken in the second set, unable to resist the momentum of the Russian tennis player at all. Ekaterina Alexandrova reached 6:0 in her favor and won the title.
Ekaterina Alexandrova has won two WTA singles titles, three WTA 125 titles and seven singles titles on the ITF Circuit. On her way to the title at WTA 250 Korea Open, she defeated Tatjana Maria (Germany), Lulu Radovcic (Switzerland), Han Na-lae (South Korea) and Asia Muhammad (USA).
